After a two-year hiatus the Australian brothers of Atlas Genius final released their latest album, “63 Days.” Lucky Angelenos were able to check them out recently at The Regent Theater in Downtown Los Angeles!
Having toured with Half the Animal and Magic Giant sharing stages with incredible acts like Incubus, this show came as their last stop on their tour! “This is the last show on the tour,” frontman Keith Jeffrey explained. “Let’s go nuts shall we – let’s dance?!” The crowd clearly obliged, how could you not?!
Throughout the show the band played a few oldies from their previous album, such as Stockholm and Molecules but it’s their new tunes, from album 63 Days, that really solidified the foundation.
As soon as the single 63 Days played, you could see a sense of awe in the crowd’s demeanor. It’s difficult to not get whisked away as Jeffrey softly sings the lyrics, and the crisp drums that lead into the rise of the chorus. From the flashing lasers, it was almost as though the event was an overall celebration of Atlas Genius and everything they’ve accomplished over the years as an entity, as they belted their hearts out on their last show of the tour.
The album alone was worth the wait albums it truly delves into their souls both on the stage and off. Full of honest yet vulnerable lyrics are the embodiment of the single 63 Days and The Regent, a locals favorite, couldn’t serve as a more perfect location to fully conceptualize the craft.
Unfortunately the tour has come to an end, but you can catch them on the road again in 2018! Be sure to check the site for tour dates! In the meantime, check out the single HERE and let us know your thoughts in the comments!
